Freelance Project (2025) - Solo Travel Experience Platform
A research to inform the development of a travel app designed to foster natural and secure connections among solo travelers through curated in-person events and contextual matchmaking.
KEY INSIGHTS
Trust is the gateway to meaningful encounters — safety is non-negotiable, especially for women.
Emotional vibe and life stage matter more than just shared interests.
Travelers seek structured but low-pressure social opportunities — context is key, not just profiles.
APPROACH & METHODS
In-depth interviews (n=10), conducted remotely in English and Portuguese, with solo travelers from 7 countries across 4 continents.
Quantitative survey (n=293) using Maze, with responses in English, Spanish, and Portuguese from 32 countries.
Concept testing and feature prioritization with open-ended feedback.
RESULTS & IMPACT
Identified key features for MVP, such as pre-event chat, vibe-based matching, and activity-centered socializing.
87% of users showed willingness to pay, provided the app ensures safety and relevance.
Research informed the value proposition, tone of voice, and design constraints for early product development.
COLLAB
Lead Researcher. Worked alongside Founders and Product Designer to integrate findings into concept boards, brand direction and MVP Definition.
